Choosing Your Relatives

?Evangelism begins at home? is a phrase I often don?t use. Apart from my birthday at the weekend (thanks for the presents family!) then my side of the family were also here for a brief visit. They also brought along the in-laws? laptop for me to get up-to-date. Vista has actually worked really well for the in-laws as I?ve set it up nice and securely so they can?t mess anything up, it auto-updates and the like. But they don?t have the computer on long enough to allow installations such as service packs, so a couple of hours in my care would sort that out. With all of the excitement around Bing (well, at least last week), then I thought I?d try and persuade my Mum to move away from Google. I?ve already failed with the Mother-In-Law: in fact she calls any text box anywhere in the browser ?the Google? which makes it difficult for me to diagnose errors over the phone? Anyway, I said ?Come on Mum, get off Google, and start using Bing? etc. etc. ? you can see that I?m a master of evangelical persuasion - and she said ?Oh, actually I don?t like Google, I?ve been using Live for ages. Is it similar?? Thankfully, blood is thicker than water.
