MacOS 10.6.2 kills support for Intel Atom

Apple continues its fight against increasing number of hackintosh community, particularly the growing part devoted to modification of the Atom netbooks machines. Apple will upgrade the upcoming Snow Leopard 10.6.2 to exclude the possibility of successful installation on Atom driven netbooks.

Something similar may be included in MacOS 10.5.9 update. So if you are already MacOS user on Atom netbook avoid these upgrades.

Hackintosh scene has experienced rapid popularity among cheap netbooks owners because the Mac Os installation process is very easy with minimal modifications. Especially popular are Dell Mini 9 and 10 becouse all hardware components simply works with MacOS system.

The second patch for Macs Office released today

Today on a Microsoft site should be available other free patch of Office 2008 for Mac which will increase speed and stability of the program and adds new possibilities for connecting to the SharePoint servers and on the Office Live Workspace. This should facilitate work to the Mac Users online, but also work for users on Windows. Now, Mac Office users can record documents in Microsoft Office Live Workspace. With this patch Microsoft besides support of IE and Firefox build support for Safari.

How to remove Safari 4 tabs from a title bar on a Mac

If you are annoyed with new Safari 4 tabs on the tittle bar, and you want them back like on upper picture, here is easy tutorial how to do that with a single command. Open your terminal and enter:

defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop -bool NO

And that's it. This will bring the tabs on Safari 3 position. This tip is Mac only, Windows Safari 4 users for now are stuck with new way of tabbed browsing like Google Chrome, so maybe later in final release Apple will include option for positioning the Safari browser tabs.

MacBook resolved problems with mini DisplayPort with patch

Patch for Nvidia video card for Macbook / Air / Pro notebook should solve a problem with the mini DisplayPort.

On the Apple site, there is a patch NVIDIA Graphics Update 2009, which "improves the mouse when it is used Adapter Cable Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI to Macbook Air, Macbook and Macbook Pro computers equipped with mini DisplayPort".

DetectorPro readers will remember that many users of these cables complained from time to time that they have distort image on the screen.

So far, it is not clear that this patch solves some big problems of MacBook or it is just like Apple said with decorated description improves the mouse. It looks like we'll have to wait for reactions to the Apple users on Internet forums and blogs.

Besides the "problems with the cursor," with some Macs, this patch brings improved play HD video on PCs with the GeForce 7300 GT and GeForce 9600M graphics cards.
